Product description
The EcoContact EP (Economy Plus) was originally produced by Continental to be fitted as standard on the Smart Fortwo and delivers a low rolling resistance to help save fuel and reduce vehicle CO2
emissions while providing traction in dry and wet road conditions.
The EcoContact EP features a silica-enhanced compound moulded into an asymmetric design with solid tread blocks and a continuous rib on the outboard shoulder to deliver responsiveness and cornering stability, while a continuous center rib provides constant rubber-to-road contact to reduce noise and control the longitudinal forces experienced during braking. The tread’s circumferential grooves and independent blocks on the inside resist aquaplaning and enhance wet weather traction. The internal construction of the tyre includes twin steel belts to stabilise the tread area on top of a polyester carcass that delivers a consistent ride quality.
Like all summer tyres, the EcoContact EP is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
