Dunlop's SP Sport Maxx 101 is a Max Performance Summer tyre developed for the drivers of pure sports cars, powerful coupes and high performance saloons and has been designed to offer outstanding driver feedback and responsive handling, but like all summer tyres is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. The SP Sport Maxx 101 uses a highly refined carbon black tread compound technology from Dunlop Motorsport which is moulded into an asymmetric tread design featuring firm tread blocks and a continuous centre rib. These features work together to keep more of the tyre on more of the road more of the time, maintaining constant road contact to deliver more responsive handling and stability at high speeds. The internal structure of the tyre includes twin steel belts reinforced by Dunlop’s Hybrid Jointless Band (JLB) spirally wrapped Aramid to provide high-speed durability while minimising weight and reducing temporary flatspotting. The tyres also feature a rayon cord casing and unique bead to enhance high-speed capability and ride quality.
